Like our dreams, this painting’s value lies below the surface, as a mirror to the inner realms. Just as the moon rules the night, it rules the waters of earth, and our emotions and intuition. What we think we see by moonlight hints at the deeper areas of who we are, what we fear, and what we seek.

Remember the last night time dream that you had? Was it confusing or clear? Chances are it was some kind of pretty crazy stuff. I’m not a person who remembers many nighttime dreams. But, inspired by an amazing book I’m reading , I have decided to do what some people call dreamwork. I am making an intention to remember, record, observe, and eventually consciously interact with my sleeping dreams. I dont have any idea where this will lead, but I am game.
So in the images below you will find a handmade book I created a few years ago that I have designated my Dream Book, for the purpose of recording what I remember of my dreams. You can read the first and only entry I wrote, so far.
So what does this have to do with my newest painting? This is a different sort of painting for me. It was made almost entirely of poured watery paint, and my bare hands. Later, I sealed it with clear medium and added areas of colored pencil marks. The painting is almost completely flat on the surface, yet incredibly deep at the same time.
Like our dreams, the painting’s value lies below the surface, as a mirror to the inner realms. Just as the moon rules the night, it rules the waters of earth, and our emotions and intuition. What we think we see by moonlight hints at the deeper areas of who we are, what we fear, and what we seek.
I dont know what YOU will see here in one of the simplest paintings I have done, yet at the same time, one of the most complex. Maybe what you see will have more to do with you, than it does with me.I won’t tell you what I see because I didnt set out to represent anything, the meanings for me come later, and, really, if I told you I’D HAVE TO KILL YOU, lol.
I wish you all to remember your dreams, if you so desire. And to reach deep and recover your wild heart. After some research and use of my thesaurus, I slept on the name for this painting…
