Poetry: Separateness & Dissolution

A Few Words for Today 11.11.2023

I understand.

There’s no graceful way to acknowledge

It.

Life’s ebb and flow is keenly sharp

Given time.

Even for all, that is in deep waters,

Reveals what is concealed

Better left unsaid,

the things we cannot change.

Currents take us,

Best drift and let it be.

The outward motions deceive none.

Sweetest things dissolve… While hard places put up a fight..

Hard pressed to remember your face, after the hours are few and far between.

The scent eventually dissipates from the shirt, and grows salty instead amid the crumpled bedsheets…

Plans cease to be discussed among good friends…

The kindling smokes,

but the flame cannot be seen….

Only- the scent fades eventually.

The perfume bottle, used sparingly,

Will still empty in time

Or spoil

We cannot see the way any longer…

I have the Pearl

but who brings the Egg?

Where is my egg?

Please

Meet me in the cave and

whisper it softly in my ear,

Lest I cry again.

Bring the light

Hold the light up for me

Please…

Reveal my shadow gently

and show me the way.

Please show me the way.

I’m lost
